We had a very nice visit to this beautiful log cabin. The sound of the river, the monarch butterflies and the fireflies at night. Comfortable beds and lovely Dish TV for nighttime viewing. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
The cottage is perfect if you wish to be intimately connected to the water. The back of the cabin has windows across most of the wall, only yards away from the water's edge. The view is stunning, overlooking Lobster Cove and out to the islands of Penobscott Bay. We stayed for a month, and in all weather (of which there was a great variety) the living area remained light, airy, and scenic. It always felt peaceful.
The cabin is small. There is room to sleep 4 and the bedrooms are immediately off the open-plan living-dining-kitchen area. This works fine, but don't expect much privacy if that is important to you.
Everything in the cabin was comfortable. The kitchen is well provisioned with cook and eating ware, the inside and outside tables are wonderful eating places, and the living room is completely oriented toward the water view. There is also a large granite ledge right in front of the cabin that gently slides right into the water, providing easy access for launching kayaks into the cove.
We met the owner, Mike, and he was wonderful: friendly, caring and responsive.
Altogether, I would highly recommend the cabin.
