Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at Sachamadra. The house itself is old and somewhat dated but it was all we needed during our 4 night visit. With the windows opened, the house was less musty and more enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for dining outside. We enjoyed the newer section of the house for indoor dining and card playing. The caretakers did not speak very good English but were very pleasant and helpful.
The location of the house is amazing. A 5 minute downhill walk to the center of Honfleur. Honfleur was once a working port but is now a major tourist destination. The village has lost some of its authenticity but is still very pretty - but extremely busy. The walk back to Sachamadra is enjoyable and provides a refuge from the crowds. The local butcher next to St. Leonard's Church is amazing.
FYI - if you have a large car, driving in/out of the driveway and thru the iron gate is not an easy task. Someone will need to be out of the car to assist with navigation.
We had a delightful stay at the Domaine and found it a perfect place for our family to gather. The house is very comfortably furnished, facilities were clean and everything was in excellent working condition. The younger grandchildren enjoyed the play equipment and we all appreciated the lovely setting. We would love to return to this peaceful place on another vacation.
