My family of four (2 daughters 8 and 11) had a lovely stay at the Mill. It’s tucked away on a small river/steam that cascades down through the property which lies in a small local community of farmhouses in beautiful Galicia. The cottage is just what we hoped for. Quaint but not small, the rooms are surprisingly generous in size and plenty of room to breathe and move around. All the windows can be opened wide if weather permits so the sound of the waterfall on the property is delightful. You are in nature. The kitchen had what we needed. We used the modern cooktop but not the traditional stove. The stone walls throughout are add to the charm. The place is about 25-30mins drive into Santiago . There are places to get provisions close by without traveling into a large town. We saw many pilgrims along the streets as the Camino runs close by. There are many places to visit on day trips from the mill and we also drove to Porto Foran overnight which took less than 2.5 hours into the city. The area is amazingly green and lush which was surprising to us when we think of Spain, we had typical English weather when there in first week of June. Being from Florida, the gentle rains and sunny spells with temps in the 60s were refreshing to us. The locals we met on our walks around the cottage were friendly including the four legged ones. We as a family were sad to leave this oasis in ancient Galicia, which, surprising to us, has Celtic roots!
Jose, although not on the property, responded to all our questions promptly.
We would certainly book this cottage again.
Ps, cannot comment on hot tub as we did not use that room.
Washer is available but be aware no dryer so if the weather is not ideal your laundry will take time to dry properly.
