My family stayed in this property for one week in July 2019. We had a fantastic time in Amble and the surrounding area and staying at this house was central to the experience.
We dealt with Stephen, the owner, who was incredibly helpful in advance of and during the stay. He was very quick to respond to emails, and always offered solutions. The book in the property with information about the house and local area was excellent and we settled in quickly.
The property is 10mins stroll from the town centre. It is quiet and very well-maintained. The top floor lounge with views across the area and marina was a lovely space and offered plenty in the way of entertainment - reading material, music and tv as well as binoculars for watching the world go by. Our other hub was the ground-floor kitchen / diner / lounge area. The kitchen was well-equipped with great appliances and all utensils and was light and airy.
Bedrooms (one on the ground, three on the first) were modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Two bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms and a family bathroom served the other two.
For part of the stay, we were seven altogether: two couples and three kids (ages 7, 5 and 3). There was plenty of room for all of us - two sofas in the kitchen area and a large L-shaped couch in the lounge upstairs with several complementary armchairs. Again - all modern, comfortable and in great condition. The garage housed a ping-pong table that the kids appreciated, and we made good use of the washer and dryer.
Amble is a great base for seeing the area with most sights within a 30min drive. Newcastle and Morpeth to the south, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Holy Island to the north. Amble itself provides everything required day-to-day - supermarket, restaurants, butchers, pubs, and great fish & chips. Nearby beaches are easy to access with free parking and beautiful wide sandy expanses.
The house represented great value for money and was what VRBO is all about - enjoying a vacation in a home away from home. When we next return to the area I would not hesitate to book the same house again and have recommended it to friends.

A Lovely and very well presented property in a very quiet and peaceful locattion. Very clean and everything needed was available,with excellent parking .Various walks from the property, especially nice was the walk along the river to the Castle.Very close is the Union Bridge (200 years old) and the Honey Farm ,and the Jim Clark Museum at Duns.
