We rented this property for a wedding. We catered the wedding & brought in our food for the grooms dinner. We rented a tent, tables, chairs, dance floor & sound system. There were 45 guests but it could accommodate more. We thought that the service would be on the "upper lawn" and the reception on the "lower lawn" but their was sufficient flat space (30' x 45'). However, it really worked out much better to have both on the "upper lawn". No one had to climb the hill or use the stairs and was much more accessible for the cater and loading supplies. This is a great place for family gatherings. The bride walked down the isle to the sounds of birds chirping and cows mooing! It was so nice to dance the night away and not have to worry about neighbors.
We and most of the guests were locals so being out in the county, on a dirt road & secluded was just what we were looking for.
The house is true to the description, very roomy. We spent most of our time outside and on the screen porch. Since it was hot hot hot during our stay the AC really felt great & really kept up with the large space. FYI the grill is a charcoal grill.
The only items I would think about before renting, but really did not affect us, were that the prior guests obviously had a BIG dog and did not pick up after it, so we had too. There is still a skunk smell in the garage if you keep the double doors closed it was really noticeable, I'd only plan to use it for storage. The kitchen had lots of appliances (including a kitchen aid mixer), silverware, glasses, plates but no serving bowls.
We may have another wedding in the future and will certainly look at renting this venue again.
