  • Great getaway in the forest
    5 of 5

The owner called us and invited us to check in early and that got us off to a great start. Cute cabin, very comfortable bed, good quality cookware( if you are cooking- Tommy’s restaurant is great for breakfast). Second morning saw a bobcat from the dining room window. Very cool, it was coming up from the stream (babbling brook close to enjoy) and walked right by the house. Would recommend and visit again.

  • Oasis in the Desert
    5 of 5

Rick’s property is truly an oasis in the desert. While there are many well-appointed rentals in Palm Springs, this is unique, whether traveling as a couple (or alone) or part of a group. Three units - each with separate secure entrances - share the complex’s pool and lounging areas, but each unit has a private patio, gas grill, and hot tub. Brilliantly partitioned, so you can socialize as much or as little as you’d like with the other tenants. Inside, Unit A was beautifully-laid out, with cool polished concrete floors and throw rugs where needed, comfortable and stylish furniture and lighting, and an easy Nest thermometer to control climate. Two large Roku-controlled TVs (if you even need them), fast WiFi, and pulldown shades for privacy/darkness when you need it. The king bed is large and comfy, but also soft. We're used to a firm mattress at home, so this was a surprise, but we adjusted, especially during an exertion-filled Coachella weekend! The only bathroom in Unit A is off the bedroom, has shutter/slatted doors and is open air above the doors to the room, so a couple should “know one another” or be comfortable with that proximity. The large, open stone-tiled shower is pure luxury. Hot water is abundant, so just be sparing for Mother Nature’s sake! Last, the kitchen is wonderful. It is stylish and fully-accessorized for you to cook a gourmet meal, or just live off what you buy at the nearby Ralph’s/Kroger grocery store. There’s cookwear, gas range and oven, assortment of knives, appliances and prep tools, lovely silver- and glassware, drip and Keurig coffee makers, and a toaster. There’s also a full-sized clothes washer/dryer in the closet, which was perfect for our stay. We can’t say enough - although we’ve tried! Rick was an enthusiastic and friendly host, welcoming us in the 9pm hour for a quick tour. We look forward to visiting again (Coachella or not) with other friends across the units. Our only regret is that we were gone for most of our stay! Next time, we look forward to enjoying the luxury of the space - we’ll definitely be back!
