We have rented dozens of VRBO places around the world over the past twenty-five years, and this may be the best one yet! The house was the perfect arrangement for our extended family group of nine (two couples and five kids ranging in age from 10 to 21). One family stayed upstairs and the other had the two downstairs bedrooms. There was plenty of living space for everyone. The kitchen is small but well-equipped and even has a dishwasher. Having three bathrooms was very convenient.
The views from the property are absolutely stunning, and the yard is enormous and beautiful. The proximity to the pedestrian path (right through the gate at the base of the property!) is divine—turn left and a five minute walk down an adorable cobblestone path takes you into the heart of Orta San Giulio, an idyllic little village with great restaurants, gelato shops, and a piazza with boat captains ready to take you out to the island (which we highly recommend—walking around the island is so picturesque and delightful). A right hand turn from the garden gate takes you to several docks where you can access the crystal clear water for a refreshing swim. You can continue on the path for quite a while, marveling at the gorgeous villas and the lush mountains.
Giorgio was fantastic—so friendly and accommodating. Such an easy and pleasant stay. We wish we could have stayed for a month!
We absolutely loved this place and hope to return! Can’t recommend it highly enough. Lake Orta is a hidden gem—uncrowded and gorgeous.
This is a stunning location, with a big, very well kept garden that's a fantastic spot to view the lake. Lots of different seating areas. Very well thought out. Completely fenced in so perfect for dogs. We loved using the bread oven. We arrived very late but the property manager was very helpful and professional and the owner was very responsive to any questions. Inside the house is comfortable, 3 large bedrooms and very nicely furnished lounge/living room. Bathrooms and kitchen were more basic and I would have liked a full oven but overall it was a good place and I would recommend it.
