This was such a beautiful cabin & far exceeded our expectations. I go to the Smokies or Appalachians usually 2x a year, and this is up there as one of the favorite cabins in which I’ve ever stayed. From the quiet gravel roads to walk with virtually zero traffic to the private overlook & boat dock that we made use of, there was so much to keep us happy & busy. Fair warning: there is no streaming on the WiFi which did disappoint me a little (we like to stream our music and movies to our IPads). But I took the opportunity to take a nice break from my phone/tablet & have some me time, which ended up being a much needed & exquisite break from technology for a bit. The cabin is brand new, extremely tastefully built & decorated, luxurious sheets & towels & top of the line appliances. I wanted this house to be my house forever! It’s seriously a cut above, and I felt pampered just staying there.
We absolutely adored floating on rafts from the dock on Fontana, and also brought our blow-up kayak. The lake was a little busy, but nowhere near as busy as it would have been for kayaking in our home on the Gulf Coast on 4th of July weekend. My Beagle even floated with us on the raft & had a blast! . This development is huge & only has 4 houses, so you feel very private & secluded. And it’s only a 20 minute drive to downtown Bryson City. You also have a back entrance to NOC which has zip lining & whitewater rafting, & mountain bike trails. I will definitely stay here again, 4 stars!!!
