  • Quality apartment, wonderful location....Getaria has everything!

    After having rented numerous properties from individual owners through HomeAway, this was the first time using a management company....Basquestay. We received prompt and full details of the property with clear instructions; address, access, keys and parking well in advance of our arrival. The apartment is of recent construction with top quality finishes, located just a short stroll from the centre of Getaria. There is everything you could possibly need in this village.....and more! Great bars, restaurants, shops, church, monuments, museums, sea, beaches, parks, fishing, boats, walks, wineries and friendly people. The apartment and furniture is exactly as in the pictures with a mesmerizing view over the sea with the surf constantly washing up onto the golden sand. All the bathrooms (3) are fully tiled in white marble, the kitchen has high-end appliances (but no automatic ice-maker) and quality utensils with knives that actually cut. One thing missing was an electric kettle, which we purchased locally and left in the apartment for future tenants. The abundant supply of paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap was appreciated. Three bedrooms upstairs, one with an on-suite shower and all with a walk-out to the roof terrace and wrap around balcony. The main bedroom upstairs has electrically controlled roller blinds with a door to the large terrace. The only negative was the condition of the terrace and lack of outside seating, which we eventually found tucked away in an outside cupboard. Weeds growing through the decking, lights not working, broken and loose deck boards gave the impression that nobody uses or maintains this area. As a first impression, it created a feeling of neglect, but did not ultimately detract from our enjoyment of the property and surroundings. Downstairs is a fourth bedroom with on-suite, a separate toilet, the kitchen and the lounge/dining area. The designated parking space is close to the main elevator, but make sure you have the building keys with you as they are needed to call the elevator from the parking level. It is also important to have the building keys with you if you wish to access the parking area and they are also needed to open the main garage gate. All in all, we highly recommend this property and were pleasantly surprised to find a complete set of clean towels left outside the door halfway through our stay. There was no contact from anyone from the management company during our 10 day stay.

  • Lovely location on the beach

    We loved the location of this apartment on the beach with many shops, restaurants and bakeries nearby. A spa is within walking distance. There is a lovely beach and promenade to walk. There is a small fishing village nearby that is quite charming. Most amenities were provided in the apartment and agents were very helpful and friendly. We had only two issues during our stay: no hot water the last 24 hours and not being reminded when we departed about needing the key to leave the parking garage (we left them in the unit). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved the beach environment!
