The description is not entirely accurate. The map of the three linked hotels indicated they were a short distance from each other and they are in fact about 1.5 km apart. The kitchen facilities were adequate with a fridge, hot top, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, but there was no oven and limited counter space. There was no free bottled water, a small bottle (500ml) cost about a dollar. The wi-fi cost $10USD per day, which we thought was a bit high! Upon arrival, we were told that they had sent us an email implying a free ride from the airport but we never heard anything about free transportation. We suggested that perhaps, in lieu, they offer a free ride back to the airport, but that was not "in the cards". There is no where to walk the long stretch of Mazatlan beach at El Cid. They have a small beach that you can access by a short boat ride, but the walk is about 2 minutes long. The day we went, the music was so loud, all we could think of was getting back to the main hotel!
The staff were very pleasant, courteous and well trained. The pools were lovely with lots of chairs and shade if desired. The rooms were well kept but the walls were entirely devoid of any art.
