We simply love Pine Ridge. There is plenty of space and lots to entertain the kids. We walked down to the lighthouse again and found a cafe on the front. The Buddle Inn is very close, although we just made use of the well equipped kitchen. The weather was fantastic too!
I am sure this will not be our final visit to Pine Ridge.
Since I was 13, I've wanted to rent a cottage on the Isle of Wight when I turned 64 (thank you, Paul McCartney). I had no idea Brook Cottage was waiting for me! The charm factor is over the top, with some adorable little delicacy in every nook within. We imagined all the history of this well-located little Shangri-la, and were delighted with the amenities and attention to detail everywhere. As old-fashioned as it is, it is also quite modern with a dishwasher, washer and wi-fi! It is located in the peaceful, rural countryside (don't miss the West Wight Alpacas!) but everything is within driving distance, from the magnificent Osborne House to the picturesque and haunting Needles, homey little Yarmouth to idyllic Godshill and breathtaking Shanklin. The Horse and Groom Pub is not to be missed! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Rosie, for making my dreams come true.
