The location of this house and layout were amazing. Perfect for a writing retreat or family get away. There's spaces to be together and also spaces to get away for alone time. The view and walks were beyond expectations. The price and quality are realistic.
The first thing we noticed was the view. The Ocean is visible at all times. If you leave the blinds up overnight you'll be met with a spectacular sunrise over the ocean.
The sound of rolling waves was persistent through the week we stayed, and strongest in the morning as the tide rolled in, the perfect time to walk 2-5 minutes to the nearby beaches with traversable rock-shelves around the headlands, or a minute to the great cafe down the hill.
Neil and Nelda were wonderful hosts who made us feel completely welcome. Neil brought us down 2 plates filled with sunflower seeds that allowed us to get close-up with the local Lorikeets and King Parrots all week. This may be a seasonal attraction, I'm not sure, but it was a nice experience.
The guest house itself is put together with great care. It is enclosed in a vibrant and colourful garden, the lawn is perfectly manicured, the interior is delightfully themed with a nautical touch, the fridges and cupboards were well stocked for our comfort.
We didn't sample the local restaurants because we were running up and down the coastline all week (Although we did make repeat visits to a superb restaurant in Dapto called Attaboy), but the Cafes were a hit. We were not served a bad coffee even once.
This is also one for the Motorcyclists, the run from Coledale to Bald Hill and back is sublime, featuring Sea Cliff Bridge on the Grand Pacific Drive. It's almost a straight-shot there and back, too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our little getaway. We sincerely hope we get a chance to come back, and we know exactly where we'll stay if we do!
