After two busy weeks touring France, we spent five wonderfully quiet days at Nathalie's beautiful home in the countryside. The house is bright, spacious, and wonderfully open. Cooking in the kitchen was a joy, and Nathalie provides a wide range of top quality pots, pans, dishes, and tools. Need an immersion blender? It's there! Need a great knife? It's there! We enjoyed dinner outside in the beautiful weather every night. While it's a short drive to the supermarket, and amazing baker will deliver delicious pastries to the house each morning! And it is a short, beautiful drive to Fontenay Abbey or the stunning villages of Noyers-sur-Serein or Vézelay. Adding to this, Nathalie is incredibly kind, funny, and helpful. She is very easy to work with, and she clearly takes pride in helping guests enjoy her beautiful corner of France! If you are looking for a restful experience in the Burgundy countryside, don't hesitate. It's a great place! We will be back!

  • Great place for a base to visit the northern area of Bourgogne

Isobel has done a marvellous job turning this old home into a new modern one without losing it’s essential character. It is well equipped for a longer stay. Our only comment was the garden in the picture is actually a 5 minute walk away and is not attached to the property. It would have been too hot to sit in it anyway as there wasn’t any shade and with walls on all four sides, there wasn’t any breeze either. Also you should be aware that the toilet is separate from the shower room and down the hall from the bedroom and down few steps. In the middle of the night it feels a bit treacherous to get to but that is only a concern for those that get up in the middle of the night! Probably shouldn’t put you off booking it though.
