This house is amazing. The views are breathtaking. The grounds are impeccable. My sons only wish for this trip was to see a toucan and for the first 2/3 we saw none. On our last day at the house two were perched in a tree and flew by us twice. He was thrilled. We went zip-lining nearby and saw a sloth in a tree, had a great dinner at the resort up the road. I could literally go on and on! The smell of the coffee plants and eucalyptus trees was to die for! Highly recommend!!
We really enjoyed our stay in the house, very clean and comfortable with windows all around to better appreciate nature. The essential at disposal to cook. Just remember to bring your home made dressing, mustard to savour salads with nice veggies from the area. Lots of junk food in the stores.I recommend you to prepare salads and smoothies with the delicious local fruits. Butter, eggs, chicken are amazing reminding us our childhood on the farm.
Speaking French, English, German does not help that much - just fun with the locals who are so helpful and adorable. Get a pen and a paper when you want to go and explore the country or else you may get lost. And if you are, you will always be amazed by the beautiful landscapes. Directions are not that reliable, some at the beginning and then nothing. Adventure! Important to get a good four-wheels car. Better to rent one before you arrive.
The ideal place to forget the city life stress and recharge your batteries. Just have to sit on the terrace, listen to the birds, the river, admire the luxurious nature, anytime of the day or night! We will return for sure!
A big thank you to Karl you was very helpful and did his best to make sure everything was OK. By the way, if you want to spend a night in San José before leaving, you can stay at Presidente Hotel in town center. Breakfast is generous and delicicious! If need be, use Uber, they are very nice guys and much cheaper than taxis.
