We stayed at this property for 9 days in late June/early July. We had a total of 6 young adults and us (parents) and there was more than enough room for everyone. The home is just beautiful - and so much nicer than the pictures show (the pictures really don't do it justice). The furnishings are very nice - much better than any of the other homes we have stayed at. The pool is wonderful and the pool furniture was perfect. The kitchen is well equipped - but was missing a blender and everyone needs mixed drinks at the beach! Not to worry - Candace (the property manager) got us one straight away! There are a few things that I would recommend for the kitchen, but you can definitely get by without them (a cheese grater, a new skillet to replace the warped one, and some better sharp knives). The refrigerator was not working properly on one day, but Candace was quick to get someone out and by the time we returned from the beach it was back to cold.
Marcelle (housekeeper) does an excellent job and she and Candace are a wealth of information about what to do in the area.
The homeowner was very easy to deal with and quick to answer my texts.
So - some advice on the area. Barbados is unbelievably expensive -much worse than I was anticipating. Food prices were so bad - double anything we buy in Virginia. I have never paid over $7 USD for a half-gallon of milk. Had I known it was this bad, I would have used a separate suitcase and paid the checked bag fee to bring a lot of non-perishables with me. You will be so grateful you did - no one wants to pay $8 USD for a box of cereal for your kids. Gas was the other expense - it equated to over $14 USD per GALLON!
The beaches were nice - much narrower than what we are used to but the water is clear and very warm.
Things to do: The Boatyard seems expensive, but you get most of the entrance fee back in food and bar credits and there is a lot to occupy the kids here.
Highly, highly recommend Ocean Daze Catamaran's for a day sail. They take a maximum of 12 on their very nice Catamran. The crew of 3 are wonderful; the food they provide is unbelievably good and so much of it! This was truly the highlight of our trip - so much so that we went twice. You won't regret the smaller number of people on this boat - some of the day sail's we saw were just packed with people. Great if you are looking for a party boat - not so much if you want to enjoy just your family.
Highly recommend this home.
Our vacation at Weston House was absolutely the best getaway that my family and I could have imagined. The beach features some sandy entry ways as well as lively coral reefs in the crystal clear Caribbean. We snorkeled every day, seeing eels, bearded fire worms, countless beautiful fish and even an octopus! Sea turtles swam nearby and on the morning of our departure, we found two lost baby turtles and helped them to the water. What a wonderful opportunity to view the wonders of the sea!
The house is beautiful. Each room has a unique view and is amazingly comfortable and spacious. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans. We stayed comfortable at all times. The house's open floor plan allowed us to enjoy the sweet ocean breezes. We kept the many French doors open anytime we awake. Security at the house was also excellent. Cameras and automatic gates shelter the house from the nearby road. Barbados is my favorite island. The people are very kind and friendly and I have always felt safe there.
The icing on our vacation cake was definitely the staff at Weston House. Deborah fixed us unbelievably tasty meals and, at our request, concentrated on local cuisine. She even did the grocery shopping for us! Sheldene and Alisa kept the house spotless and the laundry completed. During our stay, we observed pool and grounds keepers quietly performing their duties. And Anna was prompt and kind in answering our questions prior to our arrival and at our departure. The staff at Weston House felt like extended family. Oh how we hated to leave them!
If you are looking for a beautiful, comfortable home on a gorgeous beach with a staff that will attend to your every whim, Weston House if for you! I can't wait to return next year.
