My family of 7...six adults and a 2 year old, had the privilege to stay T Gibbs Glade the first week of June. Prior to our arrival Maria, the owner, was always in touch with us to answer any questions we had. I don’t think she ever sleeps! Lol. Maria gave us helpful information regarding tours to take and car rentals to use. We took her advise and she was spot on with her recommendations. Donald...the taxi driver was the most pleasant and punctual driver you can imagine. Every time he drove us somewhere he’d bring us a bag of fresh mangos from his trees. It was mango season.
Natalie, our house keeper, was amazing. She was cheerful, helpful, and kept us very organized. We discovered she was going to culinary school so we hired her one night to cook us a real Bajan feast. It was the most delicious and incredible dinner we had while in Barbados. We were so honored that she was able to cook for my husbands birthday dinner! It was a birthday dinner we will never forget.
Tonya, the manager, was a delight. Anything we needed she made sure we got. She also was a wealth of information for us and a contact if we needed anything while in Barbados.
So now the property...words or pictures can’t describe the beauty of Gibbs Glade. All I can say is I we all felt comfortable and at home. Wish it was “our beach house”. It was decorated very nicely and fully supplied with everything and anything that you could want. We ate every meal outside. There was always shade In The dining area and the “conversational “ area.
All the bedrooms had their own bathrooms and they were all fully stocked with soap and toilet paper. Very clean...only one bathroom had a tub. Beds were very comfortable for us...slept very well!
The pool area was beautiful. We spent a lot of family time sitting around the pool or floating. It was just so relaxing. You didn’t want to leave the house!
Gibbs Glade is less then a 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach is very quiet...we were the on,y ones there. We often walked to Mullins beach club...(tags provided by Maria) to watch the sunset and have a cocktail. When you first enter the water at both beaches it is a little rocky and if you have tender feet I would advise water shoes. The water was so beautiful and crystal clear. No seaweed. Once you got beyond the rocks the sand under your feet was like velvet.
Our recommendations to see/do would be definitely Good Times Catamaran tour which you get
We stayed at #5 Porters this June and could not be more pleased with the villa—a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The villa was the perfect spot for the most relaxing vacation.
Tracy’s attention to detail, from the well-stocked kitchen, to the quality of the linens, comfortable pristine furniture, welcoming food and drinks, and well-maintained pool and grounds, all made our stay a five-star experience.
Veronica gave us a warm welcome, showed us all around, and shared her local insights on where to go and what to do. Kerry and team were always accessible if we needed anything.
The villa is a short walk to the beach… and a beautiful beach it is. With passes to the Fairmont Beach Club, we could sit for hours in comfortable chaise lounges under umbrellas. Be sure to take a walk north on the beach to experience a magical and almost private cove with the waves thundering against the rocks. Stunning!
Barbados is a warm and welcoming island. We did not want to leave! We highly recommend this villa and hope to come stay again.
