From the moment we crossed the threshold of the cottage, we knew that we had entered a very special place. The downstairs literally glowed in the light streaming through the many windows. Our eyes were immediately drawn to the splendid view of fields, woods, water and sky - a true refuge from the hurried existence that is so often the hallmark of our daily lives. The two upstairs bed rooms beckoned with promises of cozy nights and restful sleep. The cottage is beautifully appointed, tastefully furnished, with a colour scheme that is soothing to the spirit. All too often, when we take a vacation, our accommodation is simply a staging place for other activities; in this case, this wonderful little spot became a treasured highlight of our week on Prince Edward Island.
We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch, and delighted in the crow family (two adults and three gangly youngsters) who were regular visitors on the lawn and the adjoining farmers field.
We hope to return someday to this beautiful corner of Canada - when we do, we know where we plan to stay. We have already recommended this property to friends and family. Our thanks go to Courtney for providing a beautiful, tranquil and soothing 'home away from home'.
House was clean, huge and beautiful - right on a secluded beach. Jovette was responsive with any questions we had. Watched the tides come in and out, mucked around in the PEI mud, watched some movies (no blueray just FYI)
Plenty of room for myself and my husband and my parents, and my two kids plus our two dogs!
First few days were rainy and cold but we had plenty of firewood and a lovely fireplace and it was quite cozy.
Once it warmed up we BBQ’d steaks on the deck and had a bonfire at the fire pit.
Only detractions were the mosquitoes- which you can’t do much about - and it was about an hour and a half from cavendish so a bit remote.
All in all it was a lovely time and I’d go back again no hesitation.
