  • Beautiful Location for a Desert Island Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed this cottage and it's desert location! There was ample privacy despite there being homes very close by on one side. The other sides are all desert! A 200yd walk brings one to a small hill which affords views of the ocean on both sides of the island. A 10 minute walk and you're at the ocean. Numerous mountian bike trials and dirt roads afford plenty of walking right out the door. We had a Jeep and were able to explore these roads driving to the lighthouse several times and also to Alto Vista Chapel! The property was clean and well maintained with an array of beach gear including chairs and snorkel gear. The outdoor spaces were comfortable for relaxing and eating and gave the cottage a feeling of being much larger. We would recommend it for a couple or small family. It could use some additional china and glassware (4 or less of each) but otherwise was very well equipped! Stuart was a pleasure and even ran over to help us light the stove after 8 one night, arriving within 10 minutes of our call. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and sunset at Faro Blanco Italian restaurant right next to the lighthouse. Also had a great experience at Zeerover, for the totally fresh food and local experience. Catch of the day and shrimp plus local sides all delicious! In terms of activities, we need to be active. We enjoyed the National Park with it's caves, history and rugged 4x4 road to swim/explore around Natural Pool, don't miss it! Also a great horseback ride with Goldmine Ranch and two snorkeling trips. If you want an off the beaten path adventure see RJ at Aruda Outdoor Adventures for his kayak/snorkel trip to Mike's reef! The water was super clear and the abundance of sea life incredible! Plus RJ the owner/guide is super nice and very knowledgeable about the island and snorkeling in general. He also takes tons of underwater pics for purchase at a very reasonable rate afterwards. It truly is one happy island, the locals were a

  • Great Property
    5 of 5

My family of 4, 2 kids under 4, stayed here a week. We loved our time here. The property was perfect for our needs. It is well away from the crowded tourist areas. It is very close to Rodgers beach which was all but deserted while we were there, perfect for the kids. We even found that the prices on this end of the island were cheaper than up around the tourist areas. Cees and Ankie were great hosts and always ready if we needed something. We even met the wild donkeys that roam the neighborhood! Could not recommend this spot more!
