We stayed here a week in Sept 2018. I hesitate to share our glowing review in fear that it will contribute to an onslaught of tourists and spoil Cetona. Of the 3 towns we visited during three weeks in Italy, this is the place I'd most like to return to. The apartment is the top floor of a very historic home in the hilltop area of the town. It has compelling views from every window, a little terrace for sitting out, and a sweet little yard below. My spouse and I had all we needed for cooking in (which we did several times) and breakfasts, the library was helpful for planning outings (plus, it's just a nice room to spend time in), bathroom was great, and bedroom plenty spacious. We enjoyed just hanging out inside and on the terrace--it's really that wonderful a place that it was a significant part of our memorable Cetona experience. And the fact that it's the owner's family home (owner now lives on the floor below) really adds to the experience--Maria showed us old photos of the town and explained that the house goes back at least to her grandmother. Our poor Italian limited our understanding, but we so enjoyed meeting her. We also met neighbors on our walks up and down to the piazza, and so got a better feel for life there. We very much appreciated the orientation Linda gave us (Linda is a native English speaker), both to cover all aspects of the apartment, show us the town basics (e.g., groc, bus stops and schedule, a rundown of local shops and eateries), and to suggest outings. We didn't have a car, but for us, the apartment and the town, coupled with bus and train access for a couple of day trips, gave us plenty of things to do.
