- Great place for a big family
We had a great time in the house in Prazeres. The view is magnificent and well worth the drive, and very private. The drive to Funchal and other sites is not as far as expected. We would be happy come to back Shaun soon.

This lovely apartment is in a great location for levada walks and excursions to Jardim do Mar, Calheta and Porto Moniz. It is comfortable, well-equipped, and quiet and it is centrally located. The bed is comfortable with lovely linens, the kitchen is modern and well equipped, and there was a brand new washer/dryer. Our hosts, Johnny and Connie, were always available to answer any questions we had, and they gave us many suggestions for events and activities happening in the area. We were able to attend Christmas concerts and local markets with their help. Our hosts welcomed us on arrival (very late at night) with homemade soup and traditional bread, and some Madeira wine. They run an excellent restaurant, which we enjoyed, and there is a grocery store nearby. We had a perfect stay in this lovely place. And the sunsets were amazing! We will recommend it to our friends! Thank you Johnny and Connie — you were very good to us!
