We loved the villa; it was beautiful, airy , clean and sunny and the location could not have been better. Herzliya has a lovely beach and we were only one block away from it. We loved openness of the house floor plan and the garden and the pool were marvelous after a hot day of sightseeing. We were close to the Marina and a great supermarket ( with the best bakery )and just round the corner from the house are some handy stores.
Our host, Gary, was fun to talk to and always really helpful if we had any questions or issues. He had a house manager, Uzi, who was a real darling and lived and worked opposite. If we needed anything, such as an extra blanket or being unable to lock the front gate, we would just call Uzi and he would immediately help us.
I have only one ( tiny) complaint, and that is that only two small gas burners on the four-burner stove worked, and they were so close together that we could only put two little saucepans on at once, so cooking a meal for all of us was not possible. On the plus side, that meant we had the perfect excuse to eat out! However, there were a couple of nights when my youngest son was too tired to go out and would have liked to have eaten at the house, and cooking a simple dish of pasta took almost an hour.
Having said that, if I ever have the opportunity to come to Israel again, I wouldn't bother looking at other villas, I would immediately ask Gary if I could rent his gorgeous house and I would heartily recommend it to anyone else looking for a home rental .
Our group of seven enjoyed three wonderful weeks in the Villa in the city of Bat-Yam. The home was spacious and clean, 5 bedrooms and a lovely patio on the top floor that made for lovely evenings. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and which made cooking at the house easy and enjoyable- so much nicer than being in a hotel. Our only dismay was the traffic! And no one could fix that! It was described as more aggressive than New York with more honking! Elena was a fantastic host and responded quickly to our every question, and even came to the house after 11 pm the first evening when we couldn't get the water running, and she brought us bottled water thou the problem (which was the neighbors) was resolved with the turn of a handle. We would return to Elena's Villa in a heartbeat!
