My husband and I stayed 12 nights at Casa Lilu in March '19. I knew when I booked the trip, it would be a new experience for us. For our previous 2 vacations in Costa Rica, we rented private jungle villas in Dominical and Ojochal. Mike's description and pictures of his rental are spot on. The house and grounds are immaculate. The pool is gorgeous. It was clean and always 86 degrees F . The weather was perfect and 96 degrees F. Sunshine everyday and no rain. No bugs. From the covered deck over the river, we saw a crocodile, yellow spotted stingrays, a shark and many birds. We cooked most of our meals in the well equiped kitchen. The bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water and the air conditioner in the bedroom worked as it should. The resident dogs, Negro and Pelican, kept vigilant watch with Victor, the groundskeeper, who lives inside the locked compound. He was up early cleaning the pool, raking leaves and keeping the property tidy. We felt safe locked in with Victor and the dogs. My first impressions of Costa Rica were of eco friendly lodges, yoga retreats and Pura Vida. This trip was real eye opener. On the other side of the pretty morning glory fence is a real Tico village.
