The property is as exactly described, but that doesn't really do it justice. The location is just about perfect, very close to Porta San Pietro but pretty well shielded from random street noise. There are several good bakeries (Dolce e Pane has great bread in the morning) and gelato shops within a couple blocks and you can't walk 5 minutes without finding a good cafe. If you're coming with kids, the carousel is pretty close.
The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and lovely. You could reasonably fit six people here. Two double beds, two twins. It's on the third floor (by American counting) and they are tall floors - this might be difficult for those with issues climbing stairs. Assuming that's not an issue for you, you will love it.
Giovanna was efficient and pleasant and very helpful. Everything worked out really well. Though it's not really part of the property listing or my review, the downstairs neighbors are very nice, too.
Lucca itself is just a wonderful town. Not too big, not too small, not too touristy.
We'll be back to Lucca and I sincerely hope to stay right here again.
Would have preferred larger bathrooms. air conditioning would have been a savior due to unusually hot weather but we understand the limitations of an older property. My husband felt the mattress was too hard, but I was very comfortable. I would come an stay again during the Fall ... I fell in love with it.
