This is a charmer. Incredibly spacious and lovely old apartment in the heart of downtown Florence—just down the street from the Duomo—with stunning views. The manager was prompt and helpful. The rooftop deck is spectacular, and if we’d had nice weather we would have been up there much more. The beds are comfy enough. The stairs are a serious consideration for anyone not able or willing to haul suitcases up many flights, but we didn’t mind. My only real suggestion is that the apartment could be better equipped. We wanted to cook in the kitchen but there was not a single baking dish to use in the oven, no salad or mixing bowls, and only a few forks and spoons. No wine glasses either – well, one wine glass. We ended up buying some and leaving them behind. Awful knives. And there is no working vacuum that we could find—maybe why the rugs were not as clean as we would have hoped...The living room furniture could be more inviting – we didn’t end up spending any time in that room. But there was still plenty of space to spread out and we loved the light and layout and charm, and the location couldn’t be better... would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. With just a tiny bit more care/investment, this would be a 5-star place. We would most likely return.
