This was one of the highlights of our trip. At the end of our trip, we asked our 13 year old grandchildren what they liked best on the trip... they both said "the farm house".
This is a restored, 900+ year old farm house. Françoise has worked to create a beautiful land-escape where you can sit and just enjoy the quiet. The rooms were very nicely restored and comfortable. The breakfast consisted of great pastries, breads, juices, home made butter, jams, jellies. She also had an egg dish - all were delicious. You are located just outside of town and far away from the chaos and traffic.
We discussed Bayeux and surrounding areas. She was very knowledgable and when she found we were going to "Point Du Pac" gave us some suggestions and her husband told us about the invasion and some local history.
Since Françoise speaks French and a little English, it was a great time for the grandkids who are studying French. She helped them with pronunciation and word usage in French. Françoise has a joyful spirit and we all had fun each breakfast talking about the area and how to say things in French.
All in all this was a special surprise for us and the kids want to return.
The property is lovely, very well maintained, and was a perfect place to headquarter our visit to the region. Stefan is a very gracious and informative host and gave us a lot of information about the origins of the Norman heritage of the area. If I had one criticism (and it is minor), it would be that we didn’t know the room we selected was on the 3rd floor. Having recently had knee replacement surgery, the older, uneven stairs were difficult. We would have selected a different room.
Overall, a wonderful place and we would recommend it.
Thanks for a lovely time!
