  • Lovely chateau stay in the French countryside!
    5 of 5

Everything about this chateau is charming. The hosts were so very friendly and attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. While they reside next door they were never intrusive. We enjoyed hearing about the property from Phillip. Our boys (ages 8 and 11) LOVED Luna, Pako and Norway- the three dogs on site. They were the perfect welcoming and exiting company each time we arrived and departed the property. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, visiting the geese and other wildlife in this forested area. In October the temps were cool so they boys did enjoy a quick dip in the pool which would be lovely during the warmer months. The chateau itself is definitely special - tasteful, cozy and equipped with almost anything you will need. Do note: the kitchen does not have an oven which I didn't read or know beforehand. However, Phillip ensured we had charcoal to grill and that worked out well. Thank you, Dubost Family, for the lovely stay and recommendations for restaurants and places to go! The close proximity to St. Emilion, Bordeaux and other wine regions made the trip even better. Thank you for the lovely state - we do hope to come back!

  • Charming location in the midst of the Bordeaux (Entre Deux Mers) wine country
    5 of 5

We recently (September 2018) spent 4 days here with a group of 7 people. The chateau easily accommodated the size of our group and could have handled quite a few more. We had excellent interactions with Marie, who takes care of everything. She even helped us join in on a Friday evening outdoor dinner with music at the local town of Arbis! We especially enjoyed the kitchen and dining areas (and of course the pool!). The location is excellent for visits to downtown Bordeaux, the charming wine town of Saint Emilion, and the bay of Arcachon. Be sure to visit the Dune of Pilat also. There are 2 things I would warn prospective visitors about the property. First, the bathrooms in the rooms have very nice showers (and one has a bath), but don't have toilets. There are two bathrooms with toilets on the second floor and one on the ground floor. Second, we had a lot of trouble with the wifi. I believe this is an issue of poor service in the entire area so there isn't much the proprietors can do about it.
