The house is beautifully situated in a small village, which is itself well-situated for exploring the surrounding area. The kitchen is well-stocked with the basics for cooking, and the hosts have kindly gathered together a box of maps and brochures to help their guests plan their time away from the house. They also provide a comprehensive list of restaurants to visit in the area.
The surrounding area is chock-full of interesting historical sites and fun villages to poke around in, but you definitely need a car in order to do that. Cuxac itself is not terribly lively, which didn't matter to us, but it might be a consideration for anyone thinking about wandering around the village shops--Cuxac isn't tourist-y at all. There are some basic shops and a restaurant, but it's otherwise blessedly quiet.
The garden is as lovely as the photos, and if you're picturing yourself sitting in this lovely setting with a glass of wine in your hand just listening to the breeze and the birds, this is definitely the spot for you.
