  • A truly relaxing stay in a wonderful villa
    5 of 5

We've just returned from a fantastic, memorable and idyllic holiday - a truly relaxing stay. We would thoroughly recommend this villa if you're looking for peace and quiet. The villa has everything you need and although it was recommended to hire a car as the villa is located about 3km from the town of Vela Luka, we enjoyed using the bikes to pick up groceries! We have 2 boys aged 15 and 12 who loved the pool and beach (both happy to have some relaxation time). Availability of Wifi occasionally welcomed by the boys! The property is clean and well maintained; excellent swimming pool and use of the lovely private beach. This villa was well located if you want a relaxing island holiday - we couldn't get enough of the sunsets and would also recommend the local small privately-owned restaurant: it was a pleasure to have met Mario, who cooks delicious meat and fish to order. We enjoyed the Tennis/basket ball/badminton court and cooking in the kitchen by the pool. Air con and electricity for cooking is only available during the early evening but this wasn't a problem to us. There are steps down to the beach so we would suggest this property is not suitable for people who struggle to walk or very young children. The owner was friendly and helpful and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the family for a wonderful stay.

Our stay at Villa Sophia was truly an unforgettable one. From the start and during our stay, Zeljana was so responsive, kind and easy to work with. The house is perfect and beautiful. The photos are very nice but it's all even nicer in person. We were a party of 9 with 4 adults and 5 teenagers and we felt the house was made for a group like ours. Privacy and plenty of space, and we came together in shared spaces everyday for coffee, swimming, dining, and watching the sun set in this breathtakingly beautiful place. There are so many things to do in the area, especially if you have a car. Going to Cara, Smokvica, Korcula, beaches in the area, not to mention swimming in the sea just below the house and walking to Zitna beach just a short distance away. The kids spent all day in the water between the sea and the pool, as did the adults, and we all had plenty of time soaking up the sun and reading books. The bikes were perfect for the kids, and the kayaks were so fun to have as well. The amenities that are walking distance from the house had everything we needed, and driving to bigger stores was easy. We're familiar with Croatia and some of it's islands, and although going to Korcula can be quite a trek in peak season, it doesn't disappoint. Zavalatica is a beautiful little gem. Renata, the house caretaker and guest caretaker made it her priority to make sure our stay was smooth and relaxing. Our day trip to Lastovo that she booked for us was definitely one of the highlights. Loved meeting and working with her!! Thank you Zeljana!
