My wife and I spent 4 nights here in mid October. Loved it.
The apartment is beautiful, equipped with very modern appliances, fixtures, etc, and is rather upscale. It has a fully equipped kitchen, huge living room, nice sized bedroom, very large and modern bathroom, and a washing machine (no dryer but a large drying rack is provided).
There are many steps to get to the apartment, so if you have significant mobility issues, that could be a concern.
The location could not be better. It is on the main pedestrian street in the historical district, literally a stone's throw from the Cathedral. Fortunately, the Cathedral's bells don't ring throughout the night, although they do begin at 7 am. No issue with street noise, as this is not a late night party town, at least not when we were there. Restaurants are at your doorstep. Supermarkets are nearby, as are the shops.
The included parking space is terrific. It is large, in a very secure garage. and an easy 10 minute walk to/from the apartment.
Lastly, Allison, who manages the apartment for her husband, Marc, speaks great English and is super friendly and helpful. We dined in their restaurant just around the corner one night and it was outstanding.
Sarlat is a great base for exploring the Dordogne. We took several tours of the area through Ophorus (wonderful), and their pick up/meeting area was just a 5 minute walk away. The markets on Wednesday and Saturday were much fun. Saturday's was much larger.
Would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
We were a group of two couples who stayed 5 nights in this apartment. The booking and check-in processes were smooth and easy. Beatrice was very helpful with local information and recommendations. The apt is in the old town so after unloading your gear and making a short walk to the apt (less than 5 minutes) you must park your car in a city (free) lot, which is less than a 10 minute walk. Being in the old, mostly pedestrian part of the city is wonderful, with interesting shops, restaurants, and churches nearby. Yes, there are somewhat steep steps up to the apartment and up to the upper level of the apartment, but it IS an old, charming building. The apartment is well furnished and comfortable, and having 2 en-suite bathrooms was nice. (Plus a powder room on the main floor) Sarlat is a wonderful central location for exploring nearby prehistoric caves, chateaus, gardens, and other small towns in the area. Recommended wholeheartedly...
