Beautiful, quiet apartment right across the street from the 6 metro. The flat had everything we needed and more. The bed was ULTRA comfortable and the balcony looks out onto a beautiful courtyard. There is a delicious boulangerie about a block and a half away, as well as a grocery store right next to it where we got pain au chocolate and fresh squeezed orange juice every morning. The apartment also had automatic blinds in every room that not only provided excellent blackout lighting, but were also very secure. Veronique was very helpful and accommodating as we were running late from the airport, and she was available for any questions we had prior to the trip and during the trip. Highly recommend!
Everything the other reviewers have noted is correct--Elisabeth has put together the perfect spot for touring Paris.
Neighborhood: The apartment is in a cool area (14th Arrondissement, Montparnasse) with a mix of residences and businesses; just around the corner is a four-block stretch of flower markets, fruit stands, creperies, bakeries, and restaurants that serve the local area. There are also a few really good nice restaurants within walking distance, L' Assiete and Restaurant Kigawa (a Michelin-starred restaurant). The only time we were part of a "tourist" crowd was when we toured the landmarks of Paris. It felt good to leave the chaos to come home to real Paris in the 14th. There are metro, bus, and RER stations within a few blocks, and the ubiquitous Uber too; most main attractions are within 15 to 30 minutes depending upon what mode you use. Charles de Gaulle International airport is between 40 minutes and an hour away, depending on what time of day you travel. Orly Airport is closer, just about 15-20 minutes away. If you don't have many bags, you can easily use public transportation to get to either airport. The Catacombs are close, so provide a nice filler activity that is near where you are.
The Property: The apartment is small; there were three women and one girl in our party--all related--so we did just fine with the space. It also was in March, so there were no concerns with air conditioning or staying cool. The heaters are actually so good we had to turn them off at one point and open a window for ventilation. Shower and sink are separate from the toilet, so this makes sharing one bathroom easier. Also, unlike some of the other listings that advertise "two bedrooms" but actually are one bedroom with a sofa or nook, Elisabeth's apartment does have two separate bedrooms with their own doors and the beds can either be either divided into two twins or combined for one king. The tiny kitchen has every single thing you could need, but I suggest you enjoy other people's cooking!
Owners/managers: Elisabeth and her husband are kind and accommodating--we needed to leave our bags on the last day so we could tour without them, and because they had no one coming in that day they allowed us to do so. She made herself available to us and checked in periodically to make sure all was going well.
In conclusion, this is a lovely place to stay and experience Paris!
