Not only is Cotignac and this apartment delightful, but the owner Marie Agnes is superb. She is so gracious, so organised and has ensured that everything needed is available. An extremely thoughtful host!!!

Cotignac’s town square, the Cours Gambetta, is surrounded by cafés, restaurants and shops. It’s the bustling center of all village activity. However, only a minute’s walk away is the Old Mill apartment. Secluded on a cul-de-sac alongside the Cassole river it looks up to the hills above the village. It’s the best of both worlds - a peaceful haven, yet a stone’s throw from all the village attractions. And the village has plenty to offer - bakeries, grocery, newsstand, pharmacy, post office, bank, cafés and restaurants; tobacco, hardware, dress and souvenir shops. Not only is the apartment well-situated, it’s also well-appointed. Many days I’d spend hiking in the hills. What a pleasure it was to come back to a hot shower and a washing machine for my dirty clothes ! [ Americans are fussy about plumbing. ] And the WiFi connection to the Internet was a godsend for taking care of business back in California. The terrace was especially enjoyable. In the evening I’d invite friends and six of us could sit outside and sip aperitifs while the sun was setting. Last summer my grandkids visited me at the Old Mill. They were in heaven. When they weren’t enjoying the marvelous swimming pool they were off to the Boulangerie Pouillard, only 50 yards up the street, to buy sweets. I heartily recommend this comfortable apartment that’s situated in a wondrous setting.
