  • Probably the BEST vacation rental I've even done!

I cannot rave about this place enough! Sure, it's a studio - but also shockingly spacious with lots of natural lighting. The amenities were awesome - complimentary bottle of wine, all the necessary cutlery, plates, etc. There is no cook top/oven, but there is a dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, kitchen sink, good storage in the kitchen, etc. The best was kind of firm at first impression, but I slept comfortably. The booklet left for guests on things to do in the area was wonderfully helpful. The courtyard was WONDERFUL with a fire pit (easy burn logs provided) and comfy chairs in one area and a wonderful table and chairs with an umbrella in another. There were residents in the house that shares the courtyard, but I never felt intrusive to them. The neighborhood felt relatively safe, although I was still conscientious of surroundings, etc. The only down-side is the commute into/out of the city - give yourself lots of time to get across the bay bridge etc (like 1.5-2 hours). Overall - HIGHLY recommend this property!

  • Arthur and John thought of everything to make this an absolutely wonderful private hideaway.

This cottage is charming and well thought out. I would move in permanently in a flash. Private, quiet and relaxing setting where you can sit outside and enjoy the canaries, garden and koi pond. Several seating areas, table and chairs, and a barbecue are at your disposal. A tray with a bottle of wine, glasses, crackers, fruit/nut mix and cheese in the fridge await your arrival in the kitchen which is fully equipped with a gas stove, dishes, mixing bowls, a blender (think margaritas or smoothie) baking pans, utensils, coffee and tea and several means to prepare it--even shopping bags-- you get the idea. Eat on the sheltered patio or perched on a stool at the breakfast bar overlooking the drought resistant beautifully landscaped refuge. The rooms are full of light with skylights and french doors which come with light-blocking shades, furnished with comfortable antiques and lamps for reading, a TV and even a selection of classic movies. Very comfortable bed, lovely sheets and towels--of which there are plenty. Sweet little bathroom with shower, lots of light and full length mirror. Did you forget something; there's soap, razors, shampoo, lotion, powder, q-tips, toothpaste, aspirin, hair spay hair dryer, iron and board.... Owners' Arthur and John are delightful people and once you meet them you will understand why everything here is perfect.
