  • Barn Again in Edenton, NC: I'm a Beliver!
    5 of 5

I grew up in Edenton and my family used Barn Again for a special family reunion. Barn Again wowed me and I am not easily wowed. The attention to detail, design, decor, quality and comfort that Sheila and Russell put into this place is amazing. I don't want to gush...I want to move in. From the pictures on the website I was thinking "oh cute, a converted barn"...it is so much more than that. I am not a fan of the new farmhouse chic but this has made me a convert. First of all, it was immaculate...The layout and design was open and so user friendly. It was totally stress-free. The kitchen. laundry room and baths were completely stocked. A bottle of wine, cheese, fruit, muffins, coffee, creamer, spices, detergent, even extra high end hair products. My family loves to cook and the kitchen was suitable for a caterer with great utensils and cookware and everything was right where it should be. We loved the double washtub kitchen sink and the open shower and claw foot tub. I was there by myself the first night and arrived after dark. The house is beautifully lit with interesting fixtures and dimmers and the dusk to dawn outside lighting made me feel safe and secure when I arrived. Every light switch is clearly labelled so there was zero fumbling turning lights on and off. The fixtures and design were architecturally innovative and Pinterest worthy. The whole family was snapping pictures. We loved the screened in porch, the back patio, the grilling station, the fire pit, the game table (we did two jigsaw puzzles!) Oh...the beds and linens were heaven! Russell and Sheila are perfect hosts and are right across a foot bridge on the other side of the small lake. Russell even came over and lit the firepit and Sheila let us snip some herbs from her little garden. It was perfect for our reunion but it would be a perfect spot for a family or two couples to come and enjoy a weekend in the charming and historic town of Edenton. I can't wait to come back and stay and my sister, who lives in Edenton, wants to do a catered party there! Janet G
