  • cabin was nice but lacked some ammenities

The rooms were larger than the website photos... great. The remodeled kitchen was very good but there were a few issues. There were plenty of pots and pans but no functional utensils to cook the food with. There was no salt shaker or sugar and just one roll of paper towels, no napkins. The flatware was fine but no steak knives to cut meats and what few knives that were available were so dull they couldn't slice tomatoes. There were no cutting boards for food prep. As for the family room, none of us had an Apple TV account, no instructions to how to work TV and took the better part of the next day just to figure out how to get around the TV setup to watch the basic network channels for news, baseball and football. It was also surprising to find out how terrible tasting the water was in Tahoe. I should have thought to bring a water pitcher for filtering but I never thought that in beautiful Lake Tahoe the water would be so bad. I ended ended up buying bottled water. A lot of people do not drink alcohol or sugared drinks and depend on having good tasting water so it would be good to inform renters that the water quality is lacking and need to make accommodations by bringing their means to filter the water or purchase bottled water ahead of time. It did take us some time but we were able to figure out what switches turned on and off what set of lights. A simple layout or diagram would have been nice so we wouldn't have upset the neighbors when we accidentally left the outside lights on. We found the BBQ on the lower decks outside the bedrooms. To be truly functional, it should be on the 2nd floor front deck outside the main room close to the eating table and kitchen. The overall stay was very good outside of the few things mentioned above. It was great to get out of the smoke and haze from the valley. The skies were real blue and weather was cool which was a great change from the valley temperatures. Sorry for being critical as to the kitchen but when it is advertised as being chic and gourmet... I expected a lot more. I cater on the side for friends and family so I do know my way around the kitchen and what is needed to cook gourmet.
