This is a lovely small house which is simply and traditionally (not modern) furnished and comfortable. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The terrace is wonderful and the views over the village and out to sea are lovely. The house is set in nice natural gardens and we loved the lizards and geckos. It is only a short drive to the local beach - the sea was beautiful to swim in (even in late October!). It is also only a short drive into Vieste which has an interesting old town. Local supermarkets were very basic but there are other smaller shops. On the 'down side', it is not peaceful - there are many dogs in the village and they bark all the time. There are also a lot of power tools from either building work or land management and also some gunshots. However, we used earplugs /earphones for music and were able to relax on the terrace on comfortable sun beds. When we arrived we were surprised to find the house was not detached - which was not a problem for us because the neighbour was very quiet. If you want to watch TV then you need to be able to speak German and as usual there were only basic non- subscription channels. The wifi was variable and insufficient for streaming but fine for emails and messaging. The owners are German but speak English and Italian and were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. They even gave us some of their freshly pressed olive oil! Their house is just below Villa Paula so they are nearby if there are any questions or problems. If you enjoy walking then we really recommend visiting the Umbra Forest which is about a half hour drive away (there is information in the house). It is very beautiful, shady and peaceful. You can also stroll along the lanes around the house. This is a lovely part of Italy and we enjoyed our stay at Villa Paula.
