Quotable rates

Price is one of the most important considerations for travelers when choosing their next vacation rental. Travelers often search for properties based on a price range they’re willing to pay for their stay. Our quotable rates system makes it easy for travelers to search by price and get instant quotes based on their specific dates. By using quotable rates, your listing will show in search results when a traveler searches for specific dates or uses filters and sorts by price.

Why use quotable rates?

  • Your property will be displayed for travelers who are searching in your area by price range.
  • Travelers see an instant quote based on their desired dates without having to contact you.
  • Enabling quotable rates is the first step in adding online booking to your listing.

Setting Up Quotable Rates

If you’ve just created a new listing, you are already using quotable rates. If you’ve had a listing with us for a while, you may still have the old rate format.

It's easy to set up Quotable Rates for your HomeAway, VRBO, or VacationRentals.com listing. Here’s how:

  1. Enter your standard base rate. Standard pricing applies to all dates in the calendar. If you have a seasonal or event pricing for dates, they will be used instead when travelers search for those dates. Adding a standard rate ensures travelers can always get an instant quote when inquiring about your property.quotable-rates.png
  2. Add any seasonal rates. If your pricing varies depending on the time of year or day of the week, fine-tune your rates by using seasonal rates. The system can accommodate different rates which will be displayed when travelers search those specific dates. (If you ONLY use seasonal rates, make sure that all times you want to rent are covered.)
  3. Add special event pricing. If there is a special event (e.g., sporting event, music festival, etc.) happening near your property, you can create special event pricing for specific dates and take advantage of the high demand for your rental area.

  • Using a combination of nightly, weekly, and monthly rates allows you to create rate breaks for guests who stay for longer periods of time.
  • You can enter your rates five years in advance, giving travelers the ability to see accurate pricing even when they’re shopping well in advance of their travel dates.
  • Block out any dates you don’t want to rent on your calendar to ensure guests don’t inquire for those days. You can learn more about your calendar here.
