Texas Coast Vacation Rentals Eager and Open for Business for Spring and Summer Months

AUSTIN, Texas, February 26, 2018 –Vacation homes make up 60 percent of Port Aransas’ lodging inventory [i], and HomeAway® has found that Texas’ treasured beach community is poised for a good year and strong recovery from Hurricane Harvey. Despite significant damage, HomeAway found that more than half of Port Aransas vacation homes remain available for travelers to rent this year. [ii]

The number of people who have rented homes already for 2018 is only slightly lower than this time last year. However, with fewer homes available to rent, travel to the area remains strong and available homes are booking quickly.

“More and more Port Aransas vacation homes and condos are completing their repairs and renovations every week,” says HomeAway travel expert Melanie Fish. “There are fewer places to stay, so families that make an annual trek to the coast need to plan earlier this year.”

HomeAway’s “best time to book” data shows that January through March are popular months for travelers booking their vacation rentals for spring break and summer, making now the ideal time to plan a spring or summer getaway.[iii]

Port Aransas plans to have a grand reopening March 10 to kick off spring break.
