Holiday Travel Trend; HomeAway Renters Head to the Suburbs

AUSTIN, Texas, —Dec. 6, 2017 New data from HomeAway®, the world leader in vacation rentals, shows a jump in demand for suburban rentals during Christmas week compared with last year.

HomeAway analyzed data from popular metro destinations and saw that growth in suburban stays typically outpaced vacation rental stays in the cities they surround. Cities that experienced an increase in suburban demand include New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Phoenix.[i]
