The rainy season for this region spans from June through September, so you'll have no chill to fear if your vacation falls into that timeframe, but do check the forecast for tropical storms.
Unless you're taking your car for a road trip down I-75 or one of the lesser roads into the Florida peninsula, you'll arrive by airplane or boat. The Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport has a terminal conveniently located in Sarasota County, and the nearby Venice Municipal Airport in Venice and Buchan Airport in Englewood also provide international access to the region.
