Snowbird vacation rentals

Enjoy some of the best powder this side of the Mississippi

Perched just outside Salt Lake City, six miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon, the aptly named Snowbird is world-renowned for its prime powder. Skiers and snowboarders flock from miles around to shred the several feet of fluffy stuff the town gets every year. A Snowbird vacation rental will surround you with the stunning scenery of the Wasatch Range, making it the perfect place to build your cozy vacation nest. Whether your crew prefers the ski or the apres ski, there's something for everyone in this modern ski mecca.

You can spread your wings year round in thrilling Snowbird

With snow in its name, there's no surprise that the skiing and snowboarding in Snowbird are top-notch. Take it to the next level with heli-skiing, or stay on solid ground with some snowmobiling or snowshoeing. The fun doesn't end when the snow melts -- there's just as much to do at a summer Snowbird vacation rental. The area has an alpine slide, climbing walls, and ropes courses, as well as excellent hiking, mountain biking, and fly fishing opportunities. The little ones (or just the young at heart) will love getting their hands dirty at the local gemstone mines.

The (Snow)bird's-eye views can't be beat

While the views from town are stunning, they're even better if you take a trip up the Aerial Tram to Hidden Peak. Whether it's winter or summer, you'll want your camera for that perfect panorama. Unwind after a long day of skiing with a pampering treatment at the Cliff Spa. For the less outdoorsy members of your travel crew, bustling Salt Lake City offers plenty to do. The city's centerpiece is undoubtedly the stunning Mormon temple in Temple Square. Get your culture fix at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, or visit the friendly critters at Hogle Zoo.

What would you expect from a town named Snowbird?

If you answered snow, you're right. In fact, the town gets more than 500 inches of the fluffy white stuff each year, much to the delight of the skiing crowd. You'll want a heavy coat if you're heading to your Snowbird vacation rental in the winter months, because lows start to dip below freezing as early as October and can stay there as late as May. Highs might not even break the freezing point from December to February. Summers are cool and comfortable, with highs in the 60s from June to September, peaking in the low 70s in July and August.

At a height of 11,000 feet, it's not so hidden

Snowbird offers a whopping 2,500 acres of skiable area. The resort is dominated by Hidden Peak, which soars to 11,000 feet above sea level and features a 3,240 foot vertical drop from the top. If heights aren't your thing, there's plenty to see on the flatter parts of Little Cottonwood Canyon, including verdant trees, glittering lakes, and fields of vibrantly colored wildflowers that bloom with a flourish in the warmer months. Keep your eye out for moose and other friendly wildlife as you're wandering about.
