If you are expecting brilliant weather when you travel to Pine Island for a vacation, you likely will not be disappointed. This is a lovely area to visit almost year-round because of its humid subtropical climate. Weather conditions in the long summer season are generally wet or humid and very warm, and there are plenty of sunny days to enjoy time outdoors during this season despite the possibility for rainfall. During the winter season, you can expect mild temperatures with less frequent rainfall. Freezing weather conditions and snowfall are very rare in this area, and in fact, the average low in the winter months is in the 50s and 60s.
Bus, train and plane travel into the Fort Myers area is common for those who want to spend time in Pine Island. Many will then rent a car once they reach Fort Myers, or they will drive their own car into the area. From Fort Myers, you simply take Highway 78 across the channel to the island. Highway 78 turns into Pine Island Road once you reach the island.
