Glendora vacation rentals

Discover the "Pride of the Foothills"

Nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley, laid-back California life doesn't get much more charming than it is in Glendora. Just a half hour east of bustling downtown Los Angeles, this affluent small town is chock full of sophisticated cafes, eateries, and boutiques, particularly on the main drag, affectionately known as Glendora Village and lined with quirky, cone-shaped trees. A centrally located Glendora vacation is the perfect base for exploring the town's historical buildings, as well as all the recreation and outdoor activities the area has to offer.

On top of Mount Baldy, all covered with trees

Strap on your comfortable shoes for a historic walking tour of downtown Glendora, or take in one of the many seasonal festivals or outdoor concerts going on around town. Head to the trails of Angeles National Forest to scale the heights of Mount Baldy. For more views, take your bike to Glendora Mountain Road or Glendora Ridge Road. The Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area offers plenty of water activities, like swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating, with some great birdwatching to boot. Golfers won't want to miss a chance to play 18 holes at Glendora Country Club.

Tour a one-of-a-kind castle made of junk

For friendly interactions with critters like falcons, raccoons, deer, and possum, head to the animal sanctuary at San Dimas Canyon Nature Center. Nearby Pasadena is home to the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, which hosts world-class sporting events and concerts. A Glendora vacation rental also puts you close to one of the most unique sights you'll ever explore, Rubel Pharm and Castle. Built out of everything from concrete and 1920s cars, to abandoned household items, this quirky castle made of junk has a clock tower, a drawbridge, and three dungeons, just waiting to be explored. Make sure you don't forget your camera.

Out there having fun in that warm California sun

Glendora is relatively warm year round, with less than a 30-degree temperature swing from the hottest to the coldest months. High temperatures soar into the 90s in July and August, but just barely dip into the high 60s from December to February. Even though you'll pretty much never have to worry about snow at your Glendora vacation rental, you'll probably still want a sweater or a light jacket, particularly in the coldest months when the nighttime temps can do down into the 40s.

How green was my valley

Cradled in the verdant foothills of the San Gabriel Valley, Glendora is sandwiched between scenic vistas on all sides. With the San Gabriel Mountains to the north and the South Hills to the south, there are more than enough wooded hiking trails to go around. The mountainous Angeles National Forest, populated with oak, pine, and fir trees, is home to five designated wilderness areas and plenty of wildlife. The Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area was formed by damming the San Gabriel River and is home to many fish, plus beaches for recreational swimming and boating.
