High temperatures in the spring and fall months are commonly in the 70s and 80s, and 90s are common in the summer. Winter highs average close to the high 50s to 60s. Rainfall is common throughout the year because of the area's subtropical climate, but the wettest months coincide with hurricane season with the peak months being July through September.

How to Get There

Flying into the area is a popular way to reach the beach, and the closest major airport is the Pensacola International Airport located a short drive to the west. From Pensacola, you can rent a car and drive east along Interstate 10 and Highway 98 to reach Santa Rosa Beach. If you are driving into the area, accessing Interstate 10 is the easiest route to take to reach the panhandle region.
