Northern New York sees plenty of cold weather from November through April, and the summers are gentle with high temperatures typically reaching into the lower 80s. If you're interested in winter sports, then December, January and February are your best choice. If you're more focused on cooling off a little in the summer, then you'll want to plan your trip for June, July or August as these are the warmest months. However, the crowds also peak during these times, and the greatest rainfall is seen in the summer. Spring and fall will provide you with pleasant temperature and lower crowds, but be prepared for the fact that more attractions and shops may be closed during these transitional periods.
