Enjoy the Best of Beach Life at Your Pacific Beach Vacation Home

A trip to sunny southern California is just what you need to recharge from the strain of your daily life, and a Pacific Beach vacation home provides you with the perfect place to kick back and relax on your getaway. Pacific Beach is ideally situated right on the coast between Mission Beach and La Jolla, and it also provides you with easy access to attractions in big cities like San Diego and Los Angeles. You will be in the perfect location for fun at your Pacific Beach vacation house, and you may enjoy amenities like a hot tub, a large deck or patio, a private parking garage and more.

Outdoor Recreation

Between your vacation home in Pacific Beach and the adjacent Mission Beach, there are approximately eight miles of uninterrupted coastline. You can walk along the beach and take time to splash in the waves at any location you choose along this expanse. While some will walk the beach, you can rent a cruiser to cruise along the beach in style. The beach is popular for sunbathing, people watching, swimming, flying kites, picnicking, surfing, boogie boarding, jet skiing, kayaking and more.

Fun Excursions

If you are up for some fun times while on vacation, head to a rental home in Belmont Park. Belmont Park is an old-fashioned-style amusement park complete with roller coasters, midway-type games and more. Just a short drive into Mission Beach, you can also tour SeaWorld San Diego or the San Diego Zoo close to the downtown area for more fun times that your family or friends will love. For a different kind of fun, there are also excursions across the water, such as dolphin and whale watching excursions, sailing trips, wildlife viewing tours and more.

There are several unique ways to spend an evening in Pacific Beach. You can take a dinner cruise on board the Bahia Belle sternwheeler paddleboat. This dinner cruise experience includes great food, live music and tons of fabulous views. Another way to experience the nightlife in Pacific Beach is to rent a bike and cruise around from bar to bar. For example, the Lahiana's Beach Bar is widely known as the spot to go for dinner and drinks in Mission Beach because of its large deck overlooking the boardwalk and ocean, and the easiest way to access this beach bar is by riding a bike to it. There are other restaurants and nightspots along the boardwalk to explore as well.

Like much of the rest of southern California, Pacific Beach has a semi-arid Mediterranean climate with typically low levels of humidity and brilliantly mild temperatures. The weather in this area is unbeatable most days of the year, and the average highs span from the mid 60s to the mid 70s throughout the year. The area receives less than 15 inches of total rainfall annually, and there are more than 250 sunny days for you to enjoy in Pacific Beach per year. While most winters are mild, keep in mind that cold weather conditions can occur from time to time, and it may even freeze on occasion if you plan to tour the inland area while on your trip.

How to Get There

Pacific Beach is located just north of the downtown San Diego area between the ocean and Interstate 5. It is located between Highway 52 to the north and Interstate 8 to the south. Therefore, it is easy to reach the area via a car or rental car. While there is not a local airport in Pacific Beach, the San Diego International Airport is located only a few miles away, and you can rent a car or take a taxi to your vacation home if you plan to travel via air.
