The Role

We’re seeking an Associate Creative Director to join our Global Creative Department at HomeAway.

The ACD will lead the London division of our creative team, helping generate ideas that deliver business results, drive world-class execution, build our brand, and cultivate an environment where creatives thrive. Reporting to the Global Creative Director, you’ll serve on the creative leadership team responsible for supporting core marketing priorities. You’ll head up a wide variety of creative initiatives, working with your colleagues and direct reports to find and scale breakthrough creative.

What you will do

Develop concepts and directions for marketing materials and campaigns using your impeccable taste and innovative mindset
Inspire great creative and drive executional excellence, ensuring all work meets the high standards of our creative department and adheres to brand guidelines
Create mockups and pitches to sell in your ideas to team members and leadership 
Oversee multiple creative projects at a time from inception to execution 
Receive, manage and respond appropriately to feedback from various parts of the business
See beyond the brief to find the spark in every project that drives creatives to do their best work 
Mentor and develop a growing team of creatives with the support and structure they need to be successful 
Maintain extraordinary relationships across the business, including marketing, product, engineering, CMS and business intelligence teams 
Be a talent magnet, attracting outstanding creatives to our team and empowering them to do the best work of their lives

Who you are

Strong conceptual, art direction and design skills that work in digital, video, social and print spaces 
Progressive responsibility in a design and advertising environment, at least some of which were in a leadership role on a consumer brand with a strong digital presence
Experience across a variety of media and formats, including digital, video, print, native mobile, email and display 
Strong portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking 
A deep understanding of digital marketing and channels like social media, and insights on what performs there 
A demonstrated ability to work with creatives of different types, including art directors, writers, designers, filmmakers and developers
Be able to think big and dream up concept-driven ideas, then sweat the details to produce pixel-perfect creative
A collaborative spirit and positive energy that inspires those around you
Advanced command of standard design and layout applications (e.g. Sketch, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Responsive design perspective with a mobile first mentality
Basic understanding of standards-driven HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery in order to translate designs
Ability to process information supplied by client/strategy/account services and translate into visual ideas and executions
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate your creative process, thoughts, ideas and a point of view about your work
Production experience working with photographers, directors and vendors 
Strong prioritisation skills
Experience managing a design team or multi-disciplinary team
Agency or related experience
Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience
