HomeAway, an Expedia Group brand is hiring for a Commercial HR Business Partner. This role provides a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide cross section of HomeAway’s business operations and work across the entire spectrum of key functions within HomeAway. You will partner with our Commercial organization which encompasses both HomeAway’s Retail and Partner success organization. These teams focus on HomeAway’s acquisition and optimization of supply globally and within key markets. Retail’s focus is bringing short and long-term strategies to unlock opportunities for our customers in those target markets. Commercial creates a strategic pathway to ensure we continue to overall increase and improve the supply of inventory for our customers.

This role is leading HRBP strategic initiatives for the EMEA Commercial organization reporting to the Global HRBP for Commercial. The position spans across multiple countries with a large set of talent residing in London and Madrid.

What you’ll do:

  • Actively identify business needs and partner with senior business leaders and COE teams (recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, systems etc.) to deploy pragmatic solutions from design to implementation.
  • Partner and lead/support organizational design and changes resulting from enabling business strategies. This includes end-to-end change management solutions with key partnerships across the regional HR teams, communications, compensation etc. Optimizing change through depth in local and regional commercial and legal realities.
  • Implement effective strategies to enable the organization to thrive through periods of change and provide group and 1-on-1 mentorship with managers and employees.
  • Partner with senior leaders on their organizational priorities, ranging from workforce planning, talent management solutions, to leadership coaching and development.
  • Lead HR programs for client group such as annual performance reviews, employee engagement survey initiatives, culture and inclusion initiatives etc.
  • Leverage insights/data to actively identify the business needs and ensure success of key strategic talent initiatives through a data centric lens. 
  • Utilize data with leadership to help create processes so they can “listen at a different level” to the trends on their teams and come up with scalable solutions to engage their employees.
  • Create trust with the business and key partners through strategic capability, accountability, effective listening and managing confidentiality of sensitive business and employee topics.
  • Keeps employee experience top of mind in design and implementation of initiatives.
  • Lead and/or participate in brand level/company level enterprise initiatives.
  • Think globally and locally relevant in providing strategic HR support.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset in work style and bring an agile mindset to prioritization of work for client initiatives.

Who you are:

  • University Degree or relevant complementary training.
  • World-class HR Business Partner professional with history of upward trajectory & multi-geo exposure. Career trajectory may have spanned a range of organisational evolutions (start-up, mid-size and enterprise) and geographies resulting in a high level of business insight.
  • Recent tier 1 tech experience preferred.
  • Has partnered with and coached senior leaders (Senior Director +) across regions and timezones and has driven significant organisational change, including reorgs, M&A and workforce reductions where necessary.
  • Solid working understanding of different local Labour laws (eg. Works Councils) and able to strategically apply this knowledge to balance efficiency against risk in relation to people initiatives.
  • Product mindset and experience with agile methodology.
  • Current/More Recent Roles: HRBP, HR Sr. Manager, HR Manager, Talent Management at a global organization with 1B+ revenue & high growth; preference for: tech/US headquartered.
