Outdoor Activities

Cape Cod National Seashore

This 40-mile stretch of coast is recognized as a National Seashore. The Seashore offers some of the best beaches and incredible views of sand cliffs. In addition to the beautiful beaches, there are plenty of biking and hiking trails to explore.

Cape Cod Rail Trail

The Cape Cod Rail Trail is one of the best trails in New England. This 22-mile paved trail is great for biking, jogging or rollerblading. It offers a scenic ride through diverse ecosystems. The Rail Trail offers one of the best ways to experience the natural attractions that the Cape has to offer. Some of the Cape's best ponds and beaches can be found along the Rail Trail.

Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge

This National Wildlife Refuge comprises more than 7,000 acres of salt and freshwater marshes and protected dunes. The Refuge is a nesting habitat for hundreds of species of migratory seabirds. Off the coast, visitors can catch glimpses of the large gray seal population that gather to play, mate, and sun themselves on the shore.

Food and Drink

Cape Cod restaurants offer a variety of dining options from roadside clam shacks to four-star restaurants. Some of the best seafood can be found on the Cape. Fried clams, fish and chips, and lobster rolls are plentiful and wonderful.

Museums and Monuments

Art and history fans will not be disappointed with Cape Cod. The area is well-known for its many museums and monuments.

Pilgrim Monument

Provincetown was where the Pilgrims initially first anchored the Mayflower in 1620. The Pilgrim Monument rises over the quaint Provincetown skyline to honor the Pilgrim’s first landing. It was modeled after the Torre del Mangia in Italy and is a must-see for history lovers.

Sandwich Glass Museum

This museum was originally the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company facility. It was preserved at the turn of the century by Sandwich Historical Society and is now a museum. It boasts both modern and historical displays of glass art. In addition, guests can enjoy live glass-blowing demonstrations.

Weather

In the summer months, from June through September, the temperatures vary from the 50s to the low 80s. Cool ocean breezes and warm waters make these months the best ones to visit. From October through November, temperatures start to drop to the 50s and 60s. Although it is a bit chilly to swim, the weather is perfect for sightseeing during the fall.

How to Get There

The best way to get around Cape Cod is by car, especially if you plan to explore the Cape. Many visitors fly into Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS) and rent a car to get around the Cape. For visitors that are within driving distance, it is easy to get to Cape Cod from Boston off Route 3. Private car service is also available from Boston to Cape Cod. For visitors coming from Boston, the CapeFlyer train is a great way to visit Cape Cod. The CapeFlyer operates during the summer months. We had a wonderful time at Alan’s, Seas the Day condo! The location was absolutely perfect between being so close to downtown and beach. Alan was attentive and the condo was well stocked. We highly recommend and cant wait to go back!! Thanks again, Becky & Chris

Great place to relax

4 of 5
As shown. Immaculate. Well supplied kitchen with plenty of utensils which I appreciated as I like to cook. Furnishings are lovely and well thought out. We loved the sunporch. The ocean is right there! Charles and Paula were helpful and responsive. We will probably go back but will wait for owners to make the insulation changes they have planned to come back in cool weather. That was our 4star instead of 5. Be sure to note that you need to bring sheets and towels.
