From the Owners: One early Spring Sunday morning in 1994, Cheryl called her sister, Beverly, and asked if she wanted to take a ride to Berkeley Springs to look at a house with her and her husband, Sonny. They all lived east of Hagerstown, MD. This house, Cheryl explained, just sounded interesting and, besides, it was a nice day for a drive. As soon as they toured the house they fell in love. They went into Berkeley Springs and, while enjoying a lunch at Tari’s, they called their parents, Alan and Mary. Alan and Mary immediately drove to meet their daughters and together they agreed to buy the house from the former owner and sealed the deal with handshakes all round. Over the last two decades that this home served as our family's home away from home. There have been a lot of great times and even major events, including a wedding, shared at this property. Now it is time to share this unique gem with others!

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors
We spent 5 days here over Thanksgiving with 2 adults and 5 children. Plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably and hang out. The backyard, creek, and firepit provided hours of entertainment every day. The nearby Cacapon State Park and Berkely Springs were fun to visit as well.
The house is old and charming, but pretty clean. Very private- I think we saw another car come down the road one time during our stay. Couches could use an update, they're old and uncomfortable. Towels and linens were fresh and the kitchen was clean. The kitchen was stocked with basics, and we could make do with the selection of cooking utensils. The heaters in every room kept us toasty warm after playing outside. Cable tv and a fun selection of old Disney movies.
There were some bugs, but mostly harmless ladybugs, and for a house in the woods near water, I expected that possibility.
If you're looking for a cozy cabin "away from it all" to enjoy the outdoors, this place is awesome!
Fantastic house by the creek!
Lovely place to stay in the mountains. Beautiful getaway!
Perfect house for a getaway
Super quiet and secluded if you are looking to get away from the busy hustle & bustle. Plenty of room to sleep and a huge deck in the back which is great for hanging out. The fire pit was awesome and there was plenty of wood to burn. Don't think twice about booking this quaint home!
5 star cabin!
we loved the cabin. we loved the house. the yard was great. the fire pit was awesome. by the stream was outstanding. thanx for everything.
We had a great time at the ladybug lodge. The creek outside was so much fun for the kids and they even found a real ladybug. We used the fire pit both nights and grilling out with the charcoal grill was fantastic.
The property was very close through a lot of fun things to do. We enjoyed downtown Berkeley Springs. The kids enjoyed fishing and swimming in the river access just down the road .
The property was exactly as advertised and the owner was responsive to a problem with the lock for the front door. All of the beds were sufficient for our family.
We did have a problem with the door in the upstairs bathroom. It does need a little maintenance.
Overall the property was great and we would consider returning for another weekend getaway.
Quaint, Quiet, Perfect Family Getaway!!
Truly enjoyed this property. The interior reminds you of grandmas house; quilts, partial original flooring and homey touches. The outside is one of the prettiest settings with a massive yard beautifully maintained weekly by Sonny, the owner. Both he and the caretaker, Holly, were nice to talk to. We rented for the month of June. The icing on the cake is the creek out back. Our grandboys, 3 and 7, had a ball playing in the water. Very relaxing spot.
