Indian Lake Rentals Are Part of Many Firsts
Pennsylvania is a state of many "firsts," and it seems like they may have more than most states. Pennsylvania was the site of the first shots in the French and Indian War as well as those for the American Revolution. Philadelphia was the first city to offer religious freedom. Wherever one visits Pennsylvania, there is bound to be something that happened there first, even in Indian Lake. The Younger Generation of Indian Lake Houses
Indian Lake houses are in a newer city than much of the state, having been settled officially in 1974. Before 1974, the land was used by Indians and other settlers but it was not an official town. In fact, Indian Lake cabins did not begin to spring up until 1974 when Arnold Palmer built his golf course in the area. Now, it is a flourishing tourist destination for eastern states and much of the Midwest. In summer, vacationers come to Indian Lake rentals for the golfing, boating, and other leisure activities that abound there.

Indian Lake on which Indian Lake cabins reside is five miles long with plenty of private beach. Each summer, a small number of local permits to use the lake are sold and private property owners have unlimited use. Residents can waterski, tube, Jet Ski, or fish. Owners providing Indian Lake houses for rent may allow their visitors to use their boats and other equipment, as long as the permit is displayed properly. Local police and the PA Fish and Boat Commission do enforce the boating laws.
Indian Lake Rentals and Three Ski Resorts
Winter at Indian Lake rentals can be just as varied as summer with many activities. Ice fishing may not be possible, but who needs it with three ski resorts offering Alpine and Nordic tracks? Seven Springs, Blue Knob, and Hidden Valley are all within 35 miles of Indian Lake houses. For a bit of warmth after skiing, consider heading to Johnstown Flood Museum or the numerous antique stores before returning to your Indian Lake cabins.
